Main Scripture:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was
formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of
God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening,

and there was morning—the first day.
Genesis 1:1-4

Thought:
God spoke and, through the Holy Spirit, created the world out of a blank canvas. (And
remember we are made in God’s image and have been given the divine authority to create
“our world”.)

Each day we receive a chance to start with a blank canvas. We should use exercise our
authority and speak God’s word into our day.

Introduction:
We’ve all heard of the ‘Green Background’ used in the movie industry. It creates the template
to which a scene is set. The movie directors (God) come up with a scene they want to create
and the special effects person (Holy Spirit) goes into action to bring it to reality – movie script
(word to God) life.

We worship a creative God who sets our lives each day on a blank canvas. Leaving us to
speak into being what we want and how we want our lives to be in line with his will and
purpose for each day.

Outline:

What to Create:
Life, family, job etc
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm
you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

How to create:
By our testimonies, the word of God and through worship
“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will
have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40

As it is written: ‘I have made you a father of many nations.’ He is our father in the sight
of God, in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being
things that were not. Romans 4:17

When to Create:
All day and everyday
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever
things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there
is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.. Philippians 4:8

Transitions:
Our new lives and the way we speak into it gives a message to the whole world about us.

Conclusion:
We need to grow with an understanding, that we have been given the power by God to create
and re-create something beautiful about our lives on a blank canvas for each day and in every
situation.

Like Adam in the garden of Eden, the animals had no name (A Blank Canvas) but God asked
Adam to name them. We can do all things through Christ who gives us the ability to.
