Main Scripture

 

Therefore, I tell you, her sins, which were many, have been forgiven; hence she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.”

Luke 7:47 

 

Thought: it’s our faith that activates the grace of God in our lives and saves us and ultimately brings us into peace

 

Luke 7:36-50

 

A woman of reputation, comes to the house of a religious leader, knowing Jesus is there, he approach is one of humility. Jesus tells a story of the two debtors, compares the two with simon and the woman. Challenges the social norms and forgives and accepts even those who’s reputation is tarnished.

 

Outline:

 

  1. Approach Jesus with boldness.
  2. Every debt forgiven 
  3. Faith that brings peace.

 

Scriptures: 

 

let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:22 

 

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have obtained access to this grace in which we stand; and we boast in our hope of sharing the glory of God.

Conclusion:

 

Many today I looking for a sanctuary of peace somewhere they can find rest for their souls but so much turmoil in the world that Jesus has provided the answer for us

 

Our approach to God is one of boldness and faith because of what Christ has done. He has opened the door for us wide, to come into his presence, to find forgiveness, to find love and ultimately to find peace.
