But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.

I Peter 3:15

Thought

Excitement is contagious. Being excited about our Lord & Saviour is a powerful testimony to the world.

When someone has no reason to be overjoyed about anything yet is excited about our Lord, that gets people interested in our faith.

Our excitement might just catch on to them

Introduction:

When we are excited about the Lord, we tell others about Him. What are you doing to maintain your excitement? The Samaritan woman at the well couldn’t contain her excitement.

Outline: 3 points. 3 scriptures.

How can we stay excited about God

  1. Chill out with God:

Spend time connecting with God

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45

  1. Treasure memories/ testimonies:

Reminisce on what the Lord has done for you

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

“Praise the LORD. I will extol the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. 2 Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.” Ps111:1-2

“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.” Ps9:1

  1. Have at least one testimony that you say all the time

…so it becomes natural.

Repeating a testimony over and over gives your key message a chance to sink in (to you)

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, - 1 Peter 3:15

Transitions:

Our motivation to speak about Jesus comes from Him, not from guilt. If we attempt sharing God’s word off our own strength is it hard, daunting, intimidating etc. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, it becomes natural (not easy) but natural – second nature

Conclusion:

Pray for opportunities to talk to our non-believing friends about Jesus – What about a flip on this!

Pray that God makes our life style do the initial talking.

PR said last Sunday (23/05) that when we encounter people on the street, we radiate hope.
